Grand Canyon University selects StatBroadcast for 2014-15

PHOENIX, ARIZ. -- Grand Canyon University and StatBroadcast Systems announced today that GCU will use the StatBroadcast Live and StatMonitr stat systems for its home athletic events throughout the 2014-15 academic year.

GCU will utilize the StatBroadcast Live platform to provide fans with live action of GCU athletic events from their computers, tablets, smart TVs and mobile devices. Fans will be able to follow all of the action starting this fall from any internet-enabled device from GCUSTATS.COM. Additionally, GCU will utilize the StatMonitr media stats system and wireless screens to provide real-time stats data to staff and media covering the events.

GCU will also use StatBroadcast to display real-time stats in HD on scoreboards and screens throughout the GCU Arena when it reopens in September following its expansion project this summer. GCU will be the first athletic program to utilize StatBroadcast’s scoreboard output for its home games; the Pac-12 Conference uses the same technology to display stats within the MGM Grand Garden Arena at its men’s basketball tournament.

Grand Canyon University is private, for-profit Christian University located in Phoenix, Arizona. Founded in 1949, GCU now boasts an enrollment of over 40,000 students and is the only for-profit university in NCAA Division I. GCU began its transition to NCAA Division I in 2013 and is a member of the Western Athletic Conference for its 20 varsity teams; GCU’s transition period will end in 2017-18, after which time the Lopes athletic teams will be eligible to participate in NCAA postseason championships.

With the addition of GCU, all four NCAA programs in the state of Arizona now partner with StatBroadcast for their stats technologies; StatBroadcast is based in Tempe, Arizona.
