University of Maryland selects StatMonitr for remainder of 2012-13 academic year

COLLEGE PARK, MD. -- The University of Maryland and StatBroadcast Systems announced today that the two have reached agreement to use the StatMonitr media stats system for remaining athletics events on the Maryland campus for the 2012-13 school year.

The University of Maryland is a public university, located in College Park, Maryland, just outside of Washington DC, with an enrollment of over 37,000, it is the largest university in Maryland and the metropolitan Washington area. Founded in 1856, it is considered a Public Ivy institution. The Maryland Terrapins compete at the NCAA Division I level with 20 varsity teams. A founding member of the Atlantic Coast Conference, the institution will join the Big Ten Conference in July 2014. The Terrapins men's basketball team has made 22 appearances in the NCAA tournament, twice reaching the Final Four and earning a national championship in 2002. The football team has had similar success, winning 11 conference titles and appearing in 24 bowl games, including three Orange Bowls and one Sugar Bowl.
